Finding Out, Sorting Out and Going Further reflection

In the Finding Out stage, we had to research our topic (mine was noise pollution) and answer our lines of inquiry that were made from our key questions. My lines of inquiry were noise pollution, the effect of noise pollution on humans and the environment, and protecting ourselves from noise pollution. First I tried to find some books about noise pollution, but I couldn’t find any, so I used the Internet. I watched some videos about noise pollution, and in one of them there was a expert in noise pollution. Then I went on some websites, because maybe there might be more useful information.

In the Sorting Out stage, we were given a piece of paper for sorting our and gong further. I wrote my lines of inquiry at the top of each section and recorded all the information I had in my notes. I thought I had enough information for each line of inquiry, as there was a lot of information, but I didn’t know the meanings of some of the words.

In the Going Further stage, I searched up the meanings of the words that I didn’t know and recorded them down on a piece of paper so that if people asked what some words mean I could answer. I also researched what happens to your ear after hearing loud noises, as I thought it was necessary.

Reflection for Exhibition

In Exhibition we are up to Finding Out, which is research of our topic. We are researching our questions that we came up in at the Tuning In stage. We researched on books, and the Internet. Most people went on the Internet first (including me) because it was easier to find their topic. I watched a couple of videos and recorded a lot of information, as they were good videos. One of the videos had an expert of noise pollution! After watching videos, I tried to find some books on noise pollution but I couldn’t find any, because it wasn’t really a popular topic. So I went back to the Internet and found some websites on what noise pollution was. I always found information that was for another one of my questions so I bookmarked the website or video so I could check back on it later, but I also found it a little annoying. My last question was quite easy to research as the websites had lots of solutions!

Exhibition Reflection

During Exhibition, we had a Lotus Diagram with the PYP Key Concepts (Form, Function, Change, Causation, Perspective, Reflection, Responsibility and Connection) on it. We thought of questions and wrote them down in the Lotus Diagram. We wrote the questions where we thought the questions fitted best. It was hard for me to think of questions. It was also hard to think of which key concept the questions fit in. But finally I finished it.
